Whole or half chicken? A sharing guide
One question decides your evening at The Chicken Bar: a half chicken for yourself, or a whole one for the middle of the table? Here is the honest arithmetic.
The numbers
A half chicken is 600 grams (21 oz) for 14.95; a whole chicken is 1200 grams (42 oz) for 27.50. Both come straight off the rotisserie, brined, marinated and slowly cooked.
For one: the half
A half chicken with Vleminckx fries (5.00) and one sauce is the standard plate, and a filling one. Add a green salad or grilled vegetables (6.00) if you want the full spread.
For two or more: go whole
A whole chicken in the middle, two or three sides around it, everyone builds their own plate. That is how the menu is meant to work. For four people, two whole chickens with four sides feeds the table properly, with dessert still possible: the crazy desserts are 7.50 and worth the space.
The sharing sides
Roseval potatoes, onion rings, corn cob, coleslaw, green salad, grilled vegetables and apple sauce, all 6.00. Corn and coleslaw are the classic chicken companions; apple sauce is the Dutch touch nobody regrets.
Still hungry first?
Start with pulled chicken tacos (3 pcs 9.25) or wings (5 pcs from 9.50) while the table decides. The full card with prices is on the menu page.
