Rotisserie chicken in Amsterdam
Looking for real rotisserie chicken in Amsterdam? The Chicken Bar has built its whole restaurant around one giant rotisserie, in a side street between Spui and Kalverstraat.
Why rotisserie makes better chicken
A rotisserie does two things a pan never will. The slow turning bastes the chicken in its own juices, hour after hour, and the open heat crisps the skin evenly on every side. Our chickens are brined and marinated first, then slowly cooked on the spit. That is why the meat comes out tender, juicy and pure in taste, every single day.
The rotisserie is the eye catcher of the restaurant: you can see your chicken turning from every table.
Whole or half, straight off the spit
You order the chicken the simple way: a half chicken (600 gr / 21 oz) for 14.95 or a whole chicken (1200 gr / 42 oz) for 27.50, served straight off the rotisserie. Add hand-cut Vleminckx fries and a side like grilled vegetables, coleslaw or corn cob, and the table is set. Not sure how much to order? Read whole or half?
More than the spit
Beyond the rotisserie there are pulled chicken tacos, wings, tenders, two chicken burgers and home made sauces like sriracha mayonnaise and chicken gravy. The full card with prices is on the menu page.
Eat in or at home
In the restaurant we pour draft beer, gin tonics and cocktails alongside; the room is open 7 days a week from 13:00 to 22:00. Rather stay in? Rotisserie chicken travels well: order delivery via UberEats, Deliveroo or Thuisbezorgd between 16:00 and 21:30.
Coming with company on a Friday or Saturday? Book a table online, it is the only way we take reservations.
